Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • National Diploma or Degree in Media Studies, Journalism, Political Science, Communication or related field (NQF Level 6)
  • 3–5 years relevant experience in media liaison or similar, with at least 2 years in a professional role
  • Experience in Public Administration is an added advantage
  • Valid driver’s licence

Primary Function

Provide strategic direction, develop and manage media relations between the Office of the Executive Mayor and the media. Ensure strong, transparent, and proactive communication that maintains a positive and professional public image for the City of Johannesburg.

  • Manage resources, assets, and support effective governance
  • Ensure proper monitoring, reporting and tracking of directorate activities
