Post Title: Engineering Technician (x2 Positions)

Purpose of the Role:
To provide support and maintenance for CNS (Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance) systems and equipment, ensuring optimal availability, safety, and compliance.


Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

  • B-Eng Tech or S4 National Diploma in Light Current Electronic Engineering
  • Eligible for registration with ECSA as Engineering Technician/Technologist
  • Valid Code 8 Driver’s License (ACSA AVOP certification advantageous)

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in CNS/ATM equipment maintenance
  • Proficient in:
    • Electronics (digital and analogue)
    • Data and radio communications
    • Telecommunications and networking
    • Computer technology and electronic measurement
    • Use of test and diagnostic equipment

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all levels of corrective and preventative maintenance on CNS systems
  • Operate and maintain support systems (UPS, Air-conditioning, Fire Systems)
  • Conduct system tests, generate technical reports, and log data into CBMMS
  • Ensure SLA compliance, airport regulations, OHAS, SACAA, and ICAO standards
  • Communicate effectively with Air Traffic Control (ATC) and technical teams
  • Support national ATM service delivery through reliable systems maintenance
  • Use Remote Control, Monitoring and Maintenance Systems (RCMMS)
  • Become proficient in BITE, first aid, fire safety, and ATNS-specific procedures
