1. Assistant Director: Senior Management Services (SMS)

Minimum requirements

  • Grade 12 plus a National Diploma in Human Resource Management (NQF 6)
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a Human Resource Management environment
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Public Service Act and Regulations
    • PFMA
    • HR administration policies and practices
    • Labour relations and reporting procedures
    • Computer-based HR systems (e.g. PERSAL)
  • Skills in HR advisory, report compilation, people management, conflict resolution and strategic planning

Key duties

  • Supervise staff and resources in the Sub-Directorate
  • Provide HR advisory support to line managers and SMS members on:

  • Oversee capturing of SMS appointments and acting appointments on PERSAL
  • Ensure HR systems and processes support SMS members effectively
  • Monitor and quality assure source documents and HR transactions
