1. Assistant Director: Auxiliary Services – Supreme Court of Appeal

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12, plus a three-year Degree/Diploma in:
    • Public Management,
    • Public Administration, or
    • Related field, NQF level 6 (360 credits) recognised by SAQA
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a corporate management/auxiliary services environment
    • Of which 2 years must be at supervisory level
  • Experience in financial management will be an added advantage
  • A valid driver’s licence

2. Administrative Officer – Gauteng Division of the High Court, Pretoria

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12, plus a:
    • National Diploma in Public Management/Administration or equivalent (NQF 6)
  • At least 1 year of administration experience

Key Duties

This post focuses on managing the Digital Court Recording System (DCRS) and support functions:

  • Train newly appointed DCRS Administration Clerks on:
    • Technical use of court recording machines
    • Administrative processes
  • Ensure daily testing of all court recording machines before court sits:
    • Check microphones and audio quality
  • Ensure clerks are in court 15 minutes before proceedings
  • Troubleshoot basic technical issues and log calls to the helpdesk where necessary
  • Ensure clerks:
    • Use headphones during proceedings
    • Regularly play back recordings to monitor audio quality
  • Ensure court recordings are backed up and stored systematically
  • Manage:
    • Upload of recordings to local servers
    • Download of recordings to CDs/USBs
  • Facilitate transcription of judgments and maintain:
    • Clear labelling of CDs and transcripts
    • Secure storage in an access-controlled strong room
  • Manage the transcription register and monitor:
    • Turnaround times
    • Compliance with SLAs (and implement penalties if needed)
  • Liaise with requesters upon receipt of transcribed records
  • Follow up invoices with transcribers and ensure payment within 30 days
  • General staff supervision:
    • Allocate duties
    • Perform quality control
    • Manage leave, performance, conduct and discipline
    • Ensure staff training and development
  • Develop and monitor work systems and processes for efficient functioning
  • Respond to enquiries and provide guidance on asset allocation and control
