🩺 Position 1: Medical Doctor

Department: Health
Branch: District Health Systems
Designation: Medical Doctor
Remuneration: R64 033.65 – R110 150.16 per month (basic salary, excluding benefits)
Location: Region B and Region G

📋 Minimum Requirements

  • Degree in Health Sciences (MBChB) or NQF Level 8 equivalent.
  • Completed 2 years of internship and 1 year of community service.
  • Current and valid HPCSA registration as an Independent Medical Practitioner.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a primary healthcare setting or district hospital.
  • Sound knowledge of health legislation, policies, and best practices.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office).
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and across sub-district facilities.

🏥 Primary Function

Coordinate and deliver comprehensive Primary Health Care (PHC) services in line with the National Health Norms and Standards. Provide leadership, manage training and research activities, and drive health promotion and outreach programmes across the City.

🚒 Position 2: Tutor/Training Officer – Medical Academy

Department: Public Safety: Emergency Management Services (EMS)

Designation: Tutor/Training Officer: Medical Academy
Remuneration: R35 053.67 per month (basic salary, excluding benefits)
Location: Florida

📋 Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12/Matric.
  • Diploma in Emergency Medical Care or higher.
  • HPCSA registration (current and valid).
  • Valid Driver’s Licence (Code B) and PrDP.
  • No criminal record.
  • Minimum 6 years operational EMS experience, including 2 years as a paramedic.

🏫 Primary Function

Deliver theoretical and practical training for learners and firefighters at the EMS Academy. Ensure compliance with training standards, manage resources, and prepare personnel to respond efficiently to emergencies.

⚙️ Key Performance Areas

  • Manage and maintain training resources and facilities.
  • Develop and deliver EMS training programmes.
  • Conduct learner assessments and performance reviews.
  • Coordinate professional development programmes.
  • Ensure compliance with HPCSA and SAESI standards.

  • Knowledge of Emergency Medical Services Regulations, Health Professions Act, and Fire Brigade Services Act.
  • Understanding of ETQA, LGSETA, and QCTO accreditation standards.
