1. Senior Student Support Officer

Reference: CORP/SSO/05
Salary: R397 116 per annum (Level 8)
Centre: Western TVET College – Corporate Office

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 / NCV Level 4 Certificate.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years’ relevant experience in student support administration or teaching and learning.
  • Valid driver’s license and computer literacy required.
  • Supervisory experience is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of: Student Support Services Framework, career guidance, public service regulations, Labour Relations Act, NSFAS, and Skills Development Act.

Duties:

  • Provide pre-entry, on-course, and exit support for students.
  • Offer career guidance, placement assessments, and counselling.
  • Facilitate student governance, leadership, and wellness programmes.
  • Supervise and coordinate Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and placement activities.
  • Oversee sports, recreation, arts, and culture programmes.
  • Manage student health, wellness, and alumni engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with DHET and College policies.

2. State Accountant: Payroll / Financial Accounting

Reference: CORP/SA/04
Salary: R325 101 per annum (Level 7)
Centre: Western TVET College – Corporate Office

Requirements:

  • Matric / NCV Level 4 plus a National Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Financial Management, or Cost & Management Accounting (NQF 6/7).
  • 2–3 years’ experience in financial management.
  • Knowledge of BAS, PERSAL, LOGIS, or Pastel systems.
  • Basic understanding of PFMA, DORA, and Treasury Regulations.
  • Must be computer literate (MS Office) and possess excellent numeracy and problem-solving skills.
  • A valid driver’s license is an added advantage.

Duties:

  • Implement budget control and expenditure monitoring.
  • Manage financial reconciliations and assist with audit queries.
  • Process and verify income, expenditure, and payroll transactions.
  • Administer employee tax deductions and prepare payment packs for third-party deductions.
  • Maintain accurate salary and tax records, including IRP5/IT3(A) certificates.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for management and council committees.

Salary: R138 486 per annum (Level 2)

Requirements:

  • Grade 10 or ABET Level 4.
  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures, hygiene, and safety regulations.
  • Basic understanding of hand tools and maintenance practices.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work long hours and perform repetitive tasks under pressure.

Duties:

  • Maintain cleanliness in offices, classrooms, and facilities.
  • Ensure proper hygiene and adhere to cleaning schedules.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties as assigned.
