Available Positions

1. Officer: Claims Investigations (x4 Posts)

Division: Claims

Purpose of the Job:
To provide effective and efficient investigative support services for claims lodged against the Road Accident Fund (RAF).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and assess claims lodged with RAF.
  • Trace insured drivers and witnesses; obtain statements and dockets.
  • Capture sketch plans and photographs of accident scenes.
  • Obtain or verify affidavits and supporting documents.
  • Identify and report potential fraud and corruption.
  • Testify in court where required.
  • Verify claimant details through NaTIS and Cross Check systems.
  • Validate supporting and financial documentation for claims.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality of documents.

Minimum Requirements:

  • NQF 7 (Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma) in a relevant field.
  • Driver’s License required.
  • Training as an investigator and certification as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) will be advantageous.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar environment.
  • Experience in merit and quantum investigations is advantageous.

Key Competencies:

  • Strong ethics, customer focus, and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of NaTIS and Cross Check systems.
  • Report writing and administrative management skills.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office & SAP).

2. Paralegal (High Court)

Purpose of the Job:
To provide administrative, research, and legal support to attorneys within the RAF’s High Court division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research and assist attorneys with case preparation.
  • Draft, summarize, and organize legal documents and pleadings.
  • Assist in client and witness interviews.
  • Manage litigation files and ensure proper documentation.
  • Contribute to regulatory and functional reporting systems.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and support governance processes.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a legal environment.

Technical and Behavioural Competencies:

  • Knowledge of claims litigation, MVA law, PFMA, and governance standards.
  • Strong client service orientation and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent legal drafting, research, and analytical abilities.
