Post Title: Project Coordinator – Entrepreneurship

Type: Fixed-Term Appointment
Programme: Entrepreneurship Development in Higher Education (EDHE)

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Entrepreneurship, Education, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ administration and coordination experience supporting complex projects
  • Experience in university or entrepreneurship development environments, events coordination, and stakeholder engagement

Key Competencies:

  • Strong administrative, organisational, and time-management skills
  • Event planning and project coordination expertise
  • Financial reporting and budget tracking
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • High computer literacy (MS Office, Adobe, Smartsheet)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work under pressure
  • Familiarity with procurement, donor-funded projects, and higher education systems

Duties and Responsibilities

Project and Event Coordination

  • Coordinate national EDHE events: EDHE Lekgotla, Studentpreneurs Indaba, Intervarsity, regional academic workshops, and capacity building sessions
  • Manage logistics, venues, materials, service providers, and stakeholder engagements

Budget, Procurement and Financial Reporting

  • Support management of UCDP and donor-funded budgets in collaboration with WITS University
  • Coordinate procurement processes and maintain accurate financial records
  • Prepare monthly expenditure reports and manage budget change requests

Project Administration and HR Support

  • Maintain documentation for project activities, budgets, reports, and staffing
  • Draft job descriptions, coordinate onboarding, and maintain HR records
  • Produce correspondence, memos, post-activity reports, and stakeholder communications

Stakeholder Engagement and Office Operations

  • Ensure availability of office supplies, manage vendor relationships and timely payments
  • Provide leadership to interns and admin support team
  • Offer support to the Director’s Office and assist with broader stakeholder engagement activities
