Minimum Requirements: Associate Professor

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Statistics or Biostatistics

Experience and Achievements:

  • At least 8 years of lecturing experience at tertiary level
  • Minimum of 6 research output units over the past 5 years in DHET-accredited journals
  • NRF C rating (advantage) or a sustained publication record
  • Master’s research supervision (completed)
  • Doctoral supervision (advantage)
  • Community engagement track record
  • Research grant funding record
  • Academic leadership experience
  • Involvement in curriculum development

Minimum Requirements: Professor

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Statistics or Biostatistics

Experience and Achievements:

  • Minimum of 10 years lecturing experience
  • Minimum of 7 research output units in DHET-accredited journals over the past 5 years
  • NRF C rating
  • Successfully supervised doctoral students
  • Proven academic leadership
  • Research funding experience
  • Community engagement and curriculum development participation

  • Promote academic excellence in teaching and research
  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • Supervise postgraduate (Master’s and PhD) research
  • Mentor junior staff
  • Lead departmental strategy and curriculum development
  • Oversee and publish results from community engagement projects
  • Serve as external moderator/examiner nationally and internationally
