Key Responsibilities
The Office Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the Pretoria Local Office by providing comprehensive office support services. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining the physical environment: Keeping the office clean and ensuring it is conducive to productive work.
- Messenger duties: Serving Legal Practitioners and other staff by delivering documents and reports on time.
- Mail handling: Managing incoming and outgoing mail, including ensuring it is sent to the correct individuals as per Legal Aid SA’s procedures.
- Telephone Etiquette: Ensuring the switchboard is manned at all times and adhering to professional telephone manners.
- Transport duties: Assisting with transportation of Legal Aid SA staff to court or other offices as needed.
Skills and Competencies
To be successful in this role, the following competencies are essential:
- National Senior Certificate (Matric)
- A valid driver’s licence
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team
- Proficiency in maintaining records and adhering to filing protocols
Salary and Benefits
