Location: Pretoria Local Office
Position Type: Permanent

Key Responsibilities

The Office Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the Pretoria Local Office by providing comprehensive office support services. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining the physical environment: Keeping the office clean and ensuring it is conducive to productive work.
  • Messenger duties: Serving Legal Practitioners and other staff by delivering documents and reports on time.
  • Mail handling: Managing incoming and outgoing mail, including ensuring it is sent to the correct individuals as per Legal Aid SA’s procedures.
  • Telephone Etiquette: Ensuring the switchboard is manned at all times and adhering to professional telephone manners.
  • Transport duties: Assisting with transportation of Legal Aid SA staff to court or other offices as needed.

Skills and Competencies

To be successful in this role, the following competencies are essential:

  • National Senior Certificate (Matric)
  • A valid driver’s licence
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team
  • Proficiency in maintaining records and adhering to filing protocols

Salary and Benefits

The basic salary for this position is set at Level 4, amounting to R179,598.00 per annum, plus benefits. This role offers the chance to grow within a supportive and empowering organisation that values equity and inclusion.
