1. Social Work Policy Developer: Policy Alignment

  • Salary: R429 573 – R487 650 per annum (Grade 1), R507 198 – R687 918 per annum (Grade 2)

  • Location: Western Cape Government, Social Development Department

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work.
  • Registered with SACSSP as a Social Worker.
  • Minimum of 8 years of social work experience post-registration.
  • Valid Code B (or higher) driving license.

Key Duties:

  • Review and align social welfare and community development policies.
  • Monitor and interpret legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide advice and support on policy development and implementation.
  • Manage and maintain a policy register.

2. Community Development Policy Developer: Stakeholder Management

  • Salary: R367 878 – R413 373 per annum (Grade 1), R507 198 – R687 918 per annum (Grade 3)
  • Reference Number: DSD 05/2025
  • Location: Western Cape Government, Social Development Department

Key Requirements:

  • 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree in Community Development or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Community Development.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and the Non-Profit Organization (NPO) sector.
  • Valid Code B (or higher) driving license.

Key Duties:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain community development policies.
  • Conduct research and stay up to date with trends in youth development programs.
  • Work with stakeholders, including government entities and the NPO sector.
  • Manage the District Development Model sector plan.

3. Administrative Support Officer: Professional Development

  • Salary: R308 154 – R362 994 per annum (Level 07)

Key Requirements:

  • Post-school qualification (NQF level 5 or higher).
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Valid Code 08 Driver’s license.

Key Duties:

  • Collate reports for the Departmental Workplace Skills Plan and training activities.
  • Monitor continuous professional development of health and social service practitioners.
  • Support the implementation of human resource development initiatives and capacity building programs.

  • Accredited secretarial or administrative qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of secretarial/administrative experience.

  • Provide secretarial and administrative support to senior management.
  • Handle correspondence, meetings, and assist with budget administration.
  • Ensure smooth operation of the manager’s office and maintain discretion.

  • Knowledge of financial norms, standards, and Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).

Key Duties:

  • Assist with the ordering, receiving, and verifying goods from suppliers.
