1. Lecturer – Financial Accounting
Post No: 8042
Peromnes Grade: 08
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Accounting or a related field OR CA(SA), CIMA, or ACCA designation.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS theory and application.
- At least 3 years of tertiary education or related industry experience.
- Research experience with outputs in DHET-accredited journals and conference presentations (advantageous).
- Affiliation with a relevant professional body (advantageous).
Duties:
- Provide academic leadership in Financial Accounting.
- Teach and assess at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Develop and maintain the Financial Accounting curriculum.
- Conduct and publish research; supervise graduate and postgraduate students.
- Maintain industry relationships and engage in community projects.
2. nGAP Lecturer – Retail Business Management (Phase 10)

Peromnes Grade: 08
Requirements:
- Relevant Master’s degree with specialisation in Retailing, Business Management, or Retail Business Administration (minimum pass mark 70%).
- Willingness to register for a doctoral degree in Retail Business Management and complete it within six years.
- Sound knowledge in inventory handling, project management, store merchandising, and warehousing.
- Membership/certification with a relevant professional body (advantageous).
- High technical proficiency (MS Office Suite, MS Teams, MS Projects, 360-degree EON technology).
Additional nGAP Criteria:
- South African citizen aged 40 years or younger.
- Demonstrated interest in an academic career.
- Eligibility for doctoral study.
- Commitment to full placement for the duration of the nGAP.
Duties:
- Complete a doctoral qualification.
- Teach and contribute to curriculum design in Retail Business Management.
- Conduct research and publish in accredited journals.
- Participate in national/international conferences.
- Liaise with W&RSETA and other stakeholders on research initiatives.
