Are you a qualified medical doctor seeking specialization in pathology? The National Health Laboratory Service (NHLS), in collaboration with top South African universities, is inviting applications for the Registrar July 2025 intake. This is your opportunity to undergo specialist training in areas of high national need while contributing to public health through research and diagnostics.
Successful applicants will be placed at designated universities and training centres for a fixed term of 4–5 years, with two weeks of workback annually. Applications are open until 6 June 2025.

Minimum Requirements
- MBChB or MBBCh degree.
- Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner (Independent Practice).
- Preference given to African and Coloured female and male citizens, and applicants with disabilities.

- HPCSA Certificate
- Two confidential referee reports, submitted directly by referees to registrarintake@nhls.ac.za
Note: Applicants must indicate a maximum of two disciplines and two universities in their preferences. Applications outside these limits will not be considered.
