Post 1: Heavy Machine Operator – Bulldozer (Ref: MN3974/25)
Salary: R274,380 – R313,416 p.a. (Level 08)
Total Package (incl. benefits): R439,507.40 p.a.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10 (Grade 12 an advantage)
- Valid driver’s licence
- Bulldozer Operating Certificate (NQF 2)
- 3 years’ relevant experience operating a bulldozer (municipal experience an advantage)
- Good communication, adaptability, and problem-solving skills
Key Duties
- Operate bulldozers on landfill sites and transfer stations
- Spread and compact waste per standards and licences
- Maintain access roads and haul/stockpile cover material
- Inspect and maintain equipment, monitor fluid levels
- Ensure safety compliance and fire control measures
Post 2: Heavy Machine Operator – Landfill Compactor (Ref: MN3973/25)
Salary: R274,380 – R313,416 p.a. (Level 08)

Minimum Requirements

- Valid driver’s licence
- Landfill Compactor Operating Certificate (NQF 2)
- 3 years’ relevant experience operating a landfill compactor (municipal experience an advantage)
- Strong mechanical and safety awareness
Key Duties
- Operate landfill compactors at landfill sites and transfer stations
- Spread and compact waste in thin layers for uniform density
- Maintain landfill grades, slopes, and drainage
- Inspect machinery, complete logbooks, and report incidents
- Comply with predetermined compaction methods and safety regulations
Post 3: General Worker – Water Section (Ref: MN3967/25)
Salary: R158,844 – R174,012 p.a. (Level 13)
Total Package (incl. benefits): R293,981.92 p.a.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10 (Grade 12 an advantage)
- Valid driver’s licence (advantage)
- 1 year’s relevant experience in a water section within local government
- Good physical health and ability to perform manual labour
- Preference for candidates residing within Midvaal area
Key Duties
- Load and offload materials/equipment
- Erect traffic warning signs during road work
- Clean work areas using manual tools
- Perform general labour tasks as instructed by supervisors
- Adhere to operational requirements and safety protocols
