Post Title: Members of the Enforcement Committee
Minimum Requirements:
- South African citizenship
- At least 10 years’ experience in one or more of the following fields:
- Information Security (CISSP, CISA, CISM, SSCP, OSCP)
- Cybersecurity
- Digital Forensics
- Forensic Accounting
- Health Sector Mediation/Medical Law
- Legal Practice (with administrative, commercial, or company law experience)
- Must be a member of a recognised professional body
- Arbitration or mediation experience is an added advantage
Disqualifying Factors:
- Current public servants or political party office bearers
- Members of Parliament or municipal councils
- Declared insolvents or persons with criminal convictions involving dishonesty
Key Responsibilities
Under Section 93 of POPIA, Enforcement Committee Members will:
- Consider matters referred by the Regulator post-investigation
- Evaluate and recommend enforcement actions against responsible parties under POPIA and PAIA
- Meet at least 12 times per year
