Senior Clerk (Expenditure) — Department of Finance

Requirements

  • Grade 12; National Diploma in Public Finance Management & Administration (or equivalent with Accounting/Management Accounting majors).
  • 1 year Finance Administration experience; computer literacy (MS Excel, recognised financial systems).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate investment quotations with banks; process inter-bank transfers; capture bank/cash transactions in Munsoft.
  • Maintain petty cash; generate manual invoices; implement SOPs; maintain accurate records and filing.

Superintendent — Department of Technical Services

Task Grade: 12 (R420 533.52 – R545 881.56 p.a.)

Requirements

  • Grade 12; N3 with Water & Plumbing Trade Certificate / Water-Wastewater Treatment Certificate.
  • 3 years’ experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise water distribution and water/wastewater treatment plant operations.
  • Monitor performance, analyse reports, enforce testing/compliance, investigate incidents.
  • Oversee contractors, repairs, preventative maintenance, pipeline commissioning and community/project meetings.
  • Allocate work, supervise teams and ensure safety and SOP compliance.

Senior Clerk (Skills Development) — Corporate Services

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12; National Certificate: Admin/Human Resources (NQF 5); 2 years’ admin experience.

Responsibilities

  • Administer training & development; advise staff on study opportunities; manage skills development filing.
  • Support Internship and In-Service programmes; assist with WSP and Skills Audit administration.

Senior Clerk: ERM — Office of the Municipal Manager

Task Grade: 06 (R174 862.08 – R227 005.20 p.a.)

Requirements

  • Grade 12; National Diploma in Internal Audit/Accounting/Risk Management/Administration.
  • 1 year relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor Auditor-General dashboard; verify ERM projects; identify risks and improvements; provide ERM admin support.

Senior Clerk (Disaster Management) — Community Services

Requirements

  • Grade 12; 1–2 years’ disaster-related experience; physically fit; English & isiZulu; basic report writing.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to incidents/disasters; support awareness & capacity-building; distribute relief aid; update district risk profile.

Minimum Requirements

Internal Auditor — Office of the Municipal Manager

Task Grade: 12 (R420 533.52 – R545 881.56 p.a.)

Requirements

  • Grade 12; National Diploma in Commerce (Accounting & Internal Auditing as majors); 2–3 years’ internal audit experience; Code EB driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

  • Document process flows; risk & control analysis; data collection and analytical reviews.
  • Plan and execute audits; ensure working papers support findings; draft reports; evaluate financial & performance reliability.

Systems Support Administrator — Corporate Services

Task Grade: 10 (R301 729.02 – R391 643.04 p.a.)

Requirements

  • Grade 12; National Diploma in IT; MCSA advantageous.
  • 2–5 years’ experience supporting FMS/ERP; valid driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve application & hardware issues; monitor systems performance; manage change control.
  • User support & training; OS backups/restores; monthly reporting.

ICT Support Officer — Corporate Services

Requirements

  • Grade 12; National Diploma in IT; MCSA advantageous; 2–5 years’ IT support experience; valid driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

Controller (Expenditure) — Financial Services

Requirements

  • Grade 12; National Diploma in PFMA (or equivalent Finance with Accounting/Management Accounting majors).
  • 2–3 years’ finance administration; computer literacy (MS Excel, recognised financial system).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare bank reconciliations; review daily cash management; clear control/suspense accounts monthly.
  • Process journals; budget monitoring and variance reporting; ensure policy compliance; inputs for revenue reports.

Accountant: Expenditure (General) — Financial Services

Task Grade: 12 (R420 533.52 – R545 881.56 p.a.)

Requirements

  • Grade 12; National Diploma in PFMA (or equivalent Finance with Accounting/Management Accounting majors).
  • 3–5 years’ experience in Financial Accounting/Budgeting/Cost Management; MS Excel & Word.

Responsibilities

  • Control general expenditure processes; verify/approve expenditure records; statistical reporting.
  • Reconcile creditors; ensure statutory payments; authorise electronic payments and journals.
  • Month-end & year-end closures; coordinate W&S revenue budget inputs; liaise with auditors; compile expenditure reports.

General Worker (Stores) x2 — Corporate Services

Task Grade: 03 (R131 600.64 – R155 355.36 p.a.)

Requirements

  • ABET or Grade 10; 1 year municipal stores experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with receiving/offloading, shelving and yard storage; issue stock to plumbers; stock-taking; filing; security of stores; investigate variances; telephone queries.

General Worker x3 — Corporate Services

Task Grade: 03 (R131 600.64 – R155 355.36 p.a.)

Requirements

  • Secondary level/Grade 8; 6 months’ relevant experience; able to read and write.

Responsibilities
