The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) is inviting applications for a permanent Compliance Officer position at its Head Office in Eco Park, Centurion.

About the Compliance Officer Position

The Compliance Officer will support ICASA divisions and departments to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal governance standards, and compliance frameworks.

The successful candidate will report to the Risk and Compliance Management Specialist within the Legal Risk & CCC Department.


Key Responsibilities

The appointed candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting formal Compliance Risk Profile workshops to identify and assess all regulatory requirements applicable to ICASA
  • Performing informal compliance reviews to identify new or updated legislative requirements
  • Monitoring compliance across business units
  • Logging and tracking findings in the Compliance Issues Log
  • Ensuring accurate and up-to-date compliance reporting to governance committees
  • Conducting research, training sessions, workshops, and presentations on compliance-related matters

This role plays a critical part in maintaining regulatory integrity and governance standards within ICASA.


Minimum Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • 3- or 4-year Degree or Diploma in Law
  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) will be an added advantage
  • 2 to 3 years relevant compliance management experience
  • Understanding of legislation including:
    • ICASA Act
    • Broadcasting Act
    • Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
    • King Reports on Corporate Governance (including King V)
    • Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office
