Department of Water and Sanitation Vacancies 2026: Trademen, General Worker Posts Open – Apply by 27 February

The Department of Water and Sanitation has published new Management Echelon and Technical vacancies under Annexure T, with a closing date of 27 February 2026.

Management Echelon Post

Director: Water Services Regulation (Ref No: 270226/01)

Salary: R1 266 714 per annum (Level 13, all-inclusive)
Centre: East London

Minimum Requirements

  • NQF Level 7 qualification in Science or equivalent
  • Five years’ experience at middle or senior managerial level in water services
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Knowledge of water services strategy, policy development and implementation
  • Understanding of Water Act, PFMA and related legislation

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with drinking water and wastewater norms and standards
  • Implement Blue Drop and Green Drop programmes
  • Regulate municipal water use efficiency (No Drop Programme)
  • Conduct technical inspections of water and wastewater plants
  • Lead financial, HR and operational planning
