State Law Advisor (LP7–LP8) — Ref No: 25/111/LD (x5 Posts)

Centre: National Office, Pretoria
Salary: R932 904 – R1 539 321 per annum (OSD)

Requirements

  • LLB or recognised 4-year legal qualification; Admission as Attorney/Advocate.
  • 5 years post-qualification litigation/advisory experience including legislative drafting and legal research.
  • Knowledge of PFMA, Constitutional, Administrative, International and Labour Law.
  • Skills: legislative drafting, legal research, analysis, problem-solving, communication, project management, ability to work under pressure.

Duties

  • Investigate, evaluate, draft and amend primary & subordinate legislation for DOJ&CD line functions.
  • Conduct socio-economic impact and legal research on legislative matters.
  • Draft memos, reports, Government Notices; prepare documentation to present Bills to Clusters and Parliament.
  • Evaluate and provide inputs on draft legislation from other departments.

Requirements

  • NQF 7 in Financial Management/Accounting/Auditing/Cost Accounting.
  • 3 years managerial (Assistant Director) level in Financial Accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations/Directives, Public Service Regulations.
  • Competencies: strategic capability, programme & project management, budgeting, people management, client orientation, teamwork, integrity.

Duties

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable administration and processing.
  • Oversee collections and compliance with controls/legislation.

Senior Court Interpreter — Ref No: 2025/78/GP

Requirements

  • Grade 12 (NQF 4) and National Diploma in Legal Interpreting (NQF 5) with 3 years court interpreting; OR Grade 12 with 10 years court interpreting.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Proficiency in English and at least two of: isiNdebele, Sepedi, isiZulu.
  • Skills: interpreting, translation, terminology development, ICMS capture, admin, supervision, accuracy, time management.

Duties

  • Render interpreting in criminal/civil/labour/quasi-judicial matters; translate legal documents and exhibits.
  • Develop terminology; assist with court record reconstruction; arrange foreign language interpreters; capture on ICMS; supervise Court Interpreters.
