Requirements

  • Undergraduate qualification at NQF Level 6 recognised by SAQA in Human Resource Management, Industrial and Organisational Psychology, Public Management or Public Administration.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Human Resource Administration with emphasis on Conditions of Service at supervisory level.
  • Knowledge of Human Resource Administration legislative frameworks, methodologies and strategies in the Public Service.
  • Knowledge of Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations, Treasury Regulations, Departmental Financial Instructions and PFMA.
  • Computer literacy, project management, planning and organising, communication and decision-making skills.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate qualification at NQF Level 7 recognised by SAQA in LLB.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a civil justice environment at functional level.
  • Knowledge of Acts relevant to statutory appointments, including the Magistrates Act, Legal Aid Board Act, Legal Practice Act, Debt Collectors Act, Small Claims Courts Act, and Justice of the Peace and Commissioners of Oath Act.
  • Knowledge of criminal law, civil law, family law, constitutional law and interpretation of statutes.
  • Skills in project management, budgeting, communication, team leadership and computer literacy.

Duties

  • Provide support in the review and development of the civil justice system policy and strategy.
  • Provide administrative support to statutory appointments, including boards and councils.

Legal Administration Officer (MR1 – MR5)

Requirements

  • LLB or a four-year recognised legal qualification.
  • Sound knowledge of the South African legal system and legal practice, especially family law and related litigation.
  • Knowledge of criminal procedure and court rules for Constitutional, Supreme Court of Appeal, High, Labour, Equality and Magistrate Courts.
  • Knowledge of PFMA and Sexual Offences and Related Matters Act.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Skills in legal research, report writing, dispute resolution, planning, organising and communication.

Duties

  • Draft legal documents and give legal advice to the Department and other organs of state.
  • Provide support services to courts regarding quasi-judicial functions.
  • Respond to petitions, complaints and representations from civil society and government departments.
  • Liaise with departments, DPP and communities on crime prevention programmes.
  • Prepare memoranda for the appointment of Commissioners of Oath and Appraisers.
  • Recover losses or damage to state property.
  • Facilitate implementation of legislation including the Victims Charter and Restorative Justice National Policy Framework.
  • Conduct community awareness campaigns on legislation administered by the Department.
