Requirements
- An undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 6) in Labour Relations / Labour Law recognised by SAQA
- At least 3 years’ experience as a Labour Relations Officer or Practitioner
- Knowledge of:
- Human Resources regulatory framework

Duties
As Assistant Director: Labour Relations, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive labour relations support within the province. Key responsibilities include:
- Facilitating the implementation of misconduct and disciplinary processes in the province
- Representing the Department at all disciplinary hearings
- Providing expert advice and guidance on disciplinary and misconduct matters
- Managing and coordinating labour-related programmes, including collective bargaining, grievance resolution and dispute management
- Responding to complaints, grievances and appeals in line with regulatory timelines and accreditation standards
- Building partnerships and engaging with recognised labour unions and other stakeholders at provincial level
- Representing the Department in mediation, conciliation and arbitration matters
- Facilitating the acquisition of evidence and witnesses for arbitration matters
- Coordinating and participating in the Provincial Consultative Forum (PCF)
- Conducting research on case law, adjudication trends and developments in labour law and labour relations practice
- Preparing and submitting weekly reports to Head Office on grievances, disputes and labour trends
- Benchmarking with other institutions to identify and promote best practice
- Ensuring that risk management and compliance practices are implemented in the labour relations environment
- Managing human, physical and financial resources within the Labour Relations unit in the province
- Coaching and guiding staff on compliance with all applicable labour legislation, public service regulations and internal policies
