The Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) is inviting applications for a Part-Time Interpreter (Independent Contractor) position at its Gauteng Province – Ekurhuleni Office.

This opportunity is ideal for qualified interpreters who are fluent in multiple South African languages and have experience in legal or hearing environments.

About the Position

The successful candidate will assist CCMA Commissioners and structures by providing professional interpreter services during hearings and official proceedings.

The role is offered on a part-time independent contractor basis.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide verbal interpretation during CCMA hearings
  • Offer administrative support functions when required
  • Facilitate clear communication between parties during proceedings

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Matric Certificate
  • Relevant NQF Level 5 certificate in Communication or Languages
  • 1–3 years’ relevant experience as an Interpreter
  • Proficiency in at least three South African languages (oral, reading and writing)

  • Setswana
  • Sepedi
  • IsiZulu
  • Sign Language
