IT Service Desk Technician (Permanent)
Job Purpose
To provide 1st and 2nd level technical support to internal stakeholders and customers, resolving hardware, software, AV, and networking-related issues. The role ensures efficient IT service delivery through adherence to IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, service level agreements (SLAs), and cybersecurity protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for all IT-related support requests
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade computers, laptops, mobile devices, printers, scanners, and copiers
- Provide support for Audio Visual (AV) and meeting room connectivity
- Perform remote and on-site troubleshooting using diagnostic tools and techniques
- Log, track, update, and close incidents and service requests in line with ITSM standards and SLAs
- Communicate progress and resolutions clearly to end-users
- Escalate unresolved issues to the Service Desk Team Leader or relevant specialists
- Maintain accurate support documentation and knowledge articles
- Identify risks, follow cybersecurity protocols, and escalate security incidents promptly
- Recommend improvements to IT service desk processes and procedures
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in IT, Computer Science, Information Technology or IT Engineering
- A+ and/or N+ certification (added advantage)
- 2–5 years’ experience in a service desk, networking, or systems administration environment
- Proven experience as a Help Desk Technician or in a similar IT support role
- Solid understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, networking, and office automation tools
