Administrator: Applied Metrology and Physical & Electrical Metrology

Salary Range: R374 261 – R440 307 per annum (all-inclusive)
Division: Applied Metrology (AM) & Physical & Electrical Metrology (PEM)

Purpose of the Position

The Administrator will provide comprehensive operational, governance, and administrative support to both AM and PEM divisions, ensuring efficiency, excellent stakeholder engagement, and seamless training coordination.

Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • National Diploma in Administration/Office Management or equivalent
  • Bookkeeping skills (advantageous)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Administrative Officer or Personal Assistant
  • Advanced computer literacy (MS Office, SharePoint, e-Workflow, e-Procurement)
  • Strong organisational, communication, and minute-taking abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent professionalism and customer service skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent English fluency and writing skills
  • Experience engaging with senior officials, international counterparts, and executives

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational assistance to directors, senior managers, and staff
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, compile minutes, track action items
  • Prepare high-quality documentation, presentations, and agendas
  • Handle domestic and international travel arrangements (including visas, bookings, logistics)
  • Process procurement orders, follow up on invoices, and manage expenditure-related queries
  • Manage record-keeping, archiving, and compliance with NMISA’s TQMS
  • Oversee training programmes, workshops, short courses, and learner record management
  • Act as the main point of contact for stakeholders and training-related enquiries
