This position has been relocated from Riviersonderend to Caledon, and applicants who previously applied do not need to reapply.
Successful candidates will join a professional team responsible for traffic law enforcement, road safety, and by-law enforcement in the municipality.

Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 Certificate (originally certified copy required)
- Traffic Officer’s Diploma (originally certified copy required)
- 2–5 years relevant experience in traffic and law enforcement (must be clearly stated in application)
- Valid Code B Driver’s Licence (originally certified copy required)
- Valid Training Certificate in the safe use of firearms (issued by an accredited SETA provider)
- No criminal record (valid clearance certificate or proof of application required)
- Valid South African ID (originally certified copy required)
- Ability to communicate in at least two of the three official Western Cape languages (English, Afrikaans, Xhosa)
- Physically fit, trustworthy, and able to handle conflict, stress, and pressure

Key Responsibilities
- Traffic control and traffic law enforcement
- Enforce the National Land Transport Act (NLTA) and municipal by-laws
- Record and register road traffic crashes with SAPS
- Execute warrants of arrest and prepare statements
- Provide emergency support during disasters or emergencies
- Complete statutory reports and registers
- Impound vehicles where necessary
- Conduct road safety awareness and educational programmes
- Manage traffic congestion and perform specialized traffic policing
- Promote safe work environments
- Work shifts, overtime, and perform standby duties when required
