Post Title: ICT Internal Auditor

Position Overview:
The ICT Internal Auditor will play a central role in executing IT-focused audit assignments within NSFAS’s Internal Audit Unit. The role involves audit methodology implementation, developing continuous auditing tools, and providing assurance on digital systems and cyber risk controls. You’ll also support broader internal audits and contribute to data-driven decision-making processes.


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • NQF Level 7 in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • 3–5 years’ experience as an ICT Auditor
  • Proficient in SQL scripting and data analytics tools (Power BI preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant IT, Accounting, or Audit field
  • CISA, CISM, CISSP, or equivalent certifications
  • 5–7 years’ experience in ICT Audit
  • Experience with cloud, IT project, and cyber audits
  • Knowledge of the higher education sector

Skills & Competencies:

  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills
  • Project management and time management
  • Knowledge of ISO, NIST, ITGC, and application control standards
  • Ability to work independently and within a team

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain NSFAS audit methodology and governance standards
  • Plan and execute IT audits including risk-based scoping and control testing
  • Analyse data, build dashboards, and contribute to continuous auditing initiatives
  • Collaborate with departments on closing audit issues
  • Prepare detailed audit reports and findings
  • Assist with monthly audit reporting and team administration
  • Engage clients throughout the audit process to build institutional knowledge
  • Maintain high compliance with audit standards and professional codes
