Minimum Requirements:

  • Qualifications:
    • Internal auditing qualification or
    • BCom degree in Accounting, Auditing, or Risk Management.
  • Work Experience:
    • Minimum 4–5 years auditing/compliance experience in a medium to large firm.
    • Preferred: Experience in public development finance institutions.
  • Professional Memberships (advantageous):
    • Institute of Risk Management South Africa (IRMSA)
    • Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA)
    • Compliance Institute of South Africa (CISA)

🔍 Key Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Management

  • Review payment submissions for grants/investments and supplier invoices.
  • Ensure disbursements align with internal policies, approved budgets, and regulations.
  • Identify risks and implement compliance controls.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with internal teams to support compliance across departments.
  • Facilitate discussions around compliance review findings.
  • Track implementation of compliance mitigations.

Internal Business Processes

  • Conduct reviews of contracts, funding agreements, and Board documents.
  • Report on compliance reviews and suggest improvements.
  • Monitor internal controls and regulatory alignment.

Learning & Development

  • Maintain a non-compliance register for continuous improvement.
  • Compile monthly review summaries for senior management.
  • Promote compliance awareness based on review outcomes.
