Minimum Requirements:
- Qualifications:
- Internal auditing qualification or
- BCom degree in Accounting, Auditing, or Risk Management.
- Work Experience:
- Minimum 4–5 years auditing/compliance experience in a medium to large firm.
- Preferred: Experience in public development finance institutions.
- Professional Memberships (advantageous):
- Institute of Risk Management South Africa (IRMSA)
- Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA)
- Compliance Institute of South Africa (CISA)
🔍 Key Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Management
- Review payment submissions for grants/investments and supplier invoices.
- Ensure disbursements align with internal policies, approved budgets, and regulations.
- Identify risks and implement compliance controls.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with internal teams to support compliance across departments.
- Facilitate discussions around compliance review findings.
- Track implementation of compliance mitigations.
Internal Business Processes
- Conduct reviews of contracts, funding agreements, and Board documents.
- Report on compliance reviews and suggest improvements.
- Monitor internal controls and regulatory alignment.
Learning & Development
- Maintain a non-compliance register for continuous improvement.
- Compile monthly review summaries for senior management.
- Promote compliance awareness based on review outcomes.
