Salary: R700,105.00 – R888,422.00 per annum (Total Cost to Company)
Grade: 1 or 2 (determined by post-qualification experience)
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric certificate
- Four-year Pharmacy degree (NQF Level 8) with SAPC registration, or
- MBChB with HPCSA registration
- A relevant Master’s degree in Health Sciences is an advantage
Experience:
- Grade 1: At least 2 years clinical experience post-internship and community service; 1 year regulatory experience advantageous
- Grade 2: At least 5 years clinical experience post-internship and community service; 1 year regulatory experience advantageous
Key Competencies and Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of the Medicines and Related Substances Act (101 of 1965)
- Familiarity with SAHPRA, ICH, and international regulatory guidelines
- Expertise in pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, clinical data analysis
- Computer literacy (MS Office), supervisory, planning and communication skills
- Ability to make regulatory decisions and conduct scientific evaluations
- Understanding of quality management systems and risk-based review processes
- Willingness to travel and work extended hours when necessary
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and evaluate clinical post-registration safety and efficacy applications
- Generate regulatory reports and recommendations
- Provide peer review and mentoring support
- Validate submissions and screen clinical variation applications
- Support SAHPRA’s stakeholder management, policy adherence, and committee coordination
- Participate in audits, scientific committees, and regulatory forums
