Minimum Requirements:
- Mathematics (Senior Grade)
- Completed Track Master Course
- Phase I, II & III theory and experiential training
- Train-working rules
- Driver’s license
Key Performance Areas:
- Impose and uplift speed restrictions
- Track closing and re-opening
- Apply safe working procedures and safeguarding of crews
- Maintain proper housekeeping and personal protection
- Plan and manage work using data from IM 2000, EMPAC, patrolman reports, and ultrasonic measurement tools
- Perform repairs according to prescribed standards
- Ensure Act 85 and Act 16 compliance and environmental responsibilities
Training & Knowledge Required:
- Manual for Track Maintenance
- Train-working rules and heavy on-track machine operations
- Knowledge of track materials and safety legislation (OHS Act)
- Disciplinary and grievance procedures
- Basic financial and contract management understanding
- Environmental awareness
- Proficiency in MS Word, Access, and Windows
