Post Title: Traction Linesman X4
Departmental Mission:
To execute routine maintenance, corrective actions, and emergency interventions on Overhead Track Equipment (OHTE).
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Minimum of:
- 4 years as Trade Hand, or
- 3 years as Trainee Traction Linesman
- Valid C1 Heavy-Duty Driver’s Licence plus valid PDP (attach copies)
- Category “A” license for OHTE / valid Overhead Track Equipment training certificate (attach copy)
- Train Working Rules knowledge (advantageous)
Key Performance Areas (KPAs):
- Ensure safety of personnel and equipment
- Conduct inspections on OHTE
- Perform administrative reporting
- Execute tasks in alignment with maintenance and operational plans
Training & Knowledge:
- OHTE “live” 3-month training (3kV DC systems)
- Electrical Safety Instructions (BBF 369)
- High/Medium Voltage special application courses
- Firefighting and first aid
- Arc and oxyacetylene welding
- Crane/lifting operations (Code 29 & 30)
- Working at heights training
