Post Title: Maintenance Assistant (3 Positions)

Division: Institutional Support Services Division (ISSD)
Section: Household Services
Reference Number: IRC7041
Job Purpose:
To assist in maintaining the upkeep of Parliament’s precincts, including general housekeeping services and facilities maintenance support.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 (relevant technical certification will be advantageous)
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience

Competencies and Skills:

  • Ability to follow schedules and instructions
  • Hands-on knowledge of tools (e.g., Allen keys, drills, hammers, pliers)
  • Basic understanding of building maintenance
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards
  • Physically fit and able to lift/move furniture
  • Comfortable with working flexible or extended hours
  • Able to work at heights of up to 3.5 meters
  • Team player, adaptable, and resilient under pressure

Key Duties:

  • Perform building upkeep and general maintenance
  • Assist with office and furniture relocations
  • Execute cleaning and hygiene services
  • Adhere to health, safety, and compliance protocols
