Post 1: Senior Practitioner: Employee Relations

Salary: R397 116 – R468 790 per annum (Level 08)

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 plus a three-year National Diploma in Labour Relations, Human Resource Management, Law, or equivalent (NQF 6).
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a Labour Relations environment.
  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
  • Knowledge of PFMA, PSA, PSR, LRA, EEA, PSCBC Resolutions, and CCMA procedures.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and policy analysis skills.
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Outlook, Internet).

Duties:

  • Facilitate compliance with the disciplinary code and grievance procedures.
  • Manage awareness programmes on discipline and the Code of Conduct.
  • Represent the department at dispute resolution forums.
  • Finalise grievances and misconduct cases.
  • Maintain case records on PERSAL and update case management system.
  • Assist in managing strike action and collective bargaining processes.
  • Supervise and develop staff in the sub-directorate.

Post 2: Judge’s Secretary (X2 Posts)

Salary: R325 101 – R382 959 per annum (Level 07)
Centre: Western Cape Division of the High Court, Cape Town

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 plus a minimum of 2 years’ secretarial experience.
  • Experience in a legal/court environment will be an added advantage.
  • An LLB Degree, Bachelor of Law, or at least 20 modules completed towards an LLB/BA Law will be an advantage.
  • Valid driver’s licence will serve as an added advantage.
  • Shortlisted candidates must pass a typing test.
  • Skills: Excellent typing, communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills; confidentiality; ability to work under pressure; computer literacy (MS Office).

Duties:

  • Provide secretarial and administrative support to Judges.
  • Type correspondence, judgments, orders, and legal documents (including dictaphone typing).
  • Manage the Judge’s diary, travel, and accommodation.
  • Safeguard case files, update exhibits and witness lists.
  • Record court proceedings when necessary and compile daily court statistics.
  • Manage Judge’s library, logbook, and administrative reports.
  • Assist with case-related requests and provide support in circuit courts.
