Post Title: SHEQ Practitioner
Reporting to: Senior Manager: Governance, Risk and Compliance
Division: Strategy, Business Development and Governance
Purpose:
To develop, implement and maintain integrated Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Management Systems across over 20 accredited laboratories at NMISA, aligned to ISO/IEC 17025, 17043, ISO 17034, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support and guidance to staff on SHEQ matters
- Conduct internal audits and facilitate corrective action
- Assist with documentation, training, and records management
- Coordinate SANAS assessments and manage non-conformances
- Contribute to management review reporting, customer feedback analysis, and continual improvement initiatives
- Maintain document control systems and version tracking
- Support strategic SHEQ planning and performance monitoring
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in SHEQ-related or technical qualification
- 1–3 years’ experience in integrated SHEQ management systems
- Proven knowledge of ISO standards: ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 17034, ISO/IEC 17043, ISO 14001, ISO 45001
- Experience in auditing and system implementation
- Basic knowledge of EHS legislation, local by-laws, and regulatory frameworks
- High attention to detail, administrative accuracy, and strong interpersonal skills
