Post Title: Temporary Security Specialist
Contract Type:
Temporary (12 months)
Reporting To:
Chief Risk Officer
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12
- National Diploma in Security Management (NQF 6)
- Advanced/Postgraduate Diploma in Security Management (advantageous)
- 5–10 years of experience in physical security management within a large organisation (600+ staff)
- Valid PSIRA Membership Certificate
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, direct, or coordinate security activities to safeguard NHBRC assets and personnel
- Coordinate with public law enforcement and other agencies
- Develop and implement organisation-wide physical security measures
- Conduct physical security risk assessments and emergency planning
- Maintain and update biometric access control systems
- Investigate and report all incidents or suspected breaches
- Compile monthly and quarterly physical security reports
- Verify invoices and manage security service provider contracts
- Prepare tender specifications and monitor SLA performance
- Attend to internal customer queries and exit procedures
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- In-depth understanding of physical security standards and compliance
- Experience conducting audits and assessments
- Competence in managing security budgets and procurement processes
- Strong communication, reporting, and presentation skills
- Ability to manage confidential investigations
