Purpose:
To oversee HR services across the museum’s sites, supporting strategic human capital objectives and driving a values-based organizational culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and align HR strategies with the museum’s objectives.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong internal relationships to support HR initiatives.
- HR Operations & Compliance: Ensure policy development and legal compliance.
- Talent Management: Manage full employee lifecycle and succession planning.
- Risk & Employee Relations: Mitigate HR-related risks and manage workplace harmony.
- Reporting & Accountability: Deliver performance reports to HRREMCO and governing bodies.
- Training & Development: Lead learning programmes aligned to skills development.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
- Deep knowledge of South African labour laws (BCEA, LRA, EEA, SDA, etc.)
- Experience in talent management, job grading, risk management, SAGE 300 People
- Change management and organisational design principles
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or Industrial/Organizational Psychology
- Postgraduate qualification (advantageous)
- Registration with a recognised HR body (e.g. SABPP)
- Minimum 5 years HR experience in a unionized environment, 3 years in a senior role
- Proven ability to implement strategic HR initiatives
