Post Title: HR Manager

Department: Human Resources
Salary Band: R416,581 – R626,242 per annum
Reference Number: HR 8/2025

Purpose:
To oversee HR services across the museum’s sites, supporting strategic human capital objectives and driving a values-based organizational culture.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and align HR strategies with the museum’s objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong internal relationships to support HR initiatives.
  • HR Operations & Compliance: Ensure policy development and legal compliance.
  • Talent Management: Manage full employee lifecycle and succession planning.
  • Risk & Employee Relations: Mitigate HR-related risks and manage workplace harmony.
  • Reporting & Accountability: Deliver performance reports to HRREMCO and governing bodies.
  • Training & Development: Lead learning programmes aligned to skills development.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of South African labour laws (BCEA, LRA, EEA, SDA, etc.)
  • Experience in talent management, job grading, risk management, SAGE 300 People
  • Change management and organisational design principles
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or Industrial/Organizational Psychology
  • Postgraduate qualification (advantageous)
  • Registration with a recognised HR body (e.g. SABPP)
  • Minimum 5 years HR experience in a unionized environment, 3 years in a senior role
  • Proven ability to implement strategic HR initiatives
