Post Title: Manager: SHEQ
Salary Range: R883 226 – R1 039 089 per annum (all-inclusive)
Purpose of the Role:
The SHEQ Manager is responsible for managing and improving NMISA’s accredited quality system and certified environmental and occupational health and safety management systems. The role spans over 20 laboratories and various ISO certifications, ensuring regulatory compliance, performance monitoring, internal audits, and training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and strategic direction on SHEQ matters aligned to NMISA strategy.
- Oversee documentation and integration of Total Quality Management Systems (TQMS).
- Conduct internal SHEQ audits and ensure ISO/IEC 17025, 17043, 17034, 14001, and 45001 compliance.
- Facilitate SHEQ training and manage corrective actions, complaints, and system improvements.
- Lead customer satisfaction initiatives, EHS/Quality reviews, and represent NMISA in national and international metrology platforms.
- Act as liaison for assessments and audits with SANAS, SABS, AFRIMETS, and other partners.
Requirements:
- Postgraduate Degree in Safety, Environment, Quality or relevant technical qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years in SHEQ management at a managerial level.
- Background in science or engineering is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of ISO/IEC standards (17025, 17043, 17034, 9001).
- Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and EHS legislation.
- Practical knowledge of hazardous materials, radiation, and incident management.
- Excellent planning, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and budget management.
