Enterprise Risk Management Committee Chairperson

Location: GCIS Head Office – Pretoria
Term: 3-year appointment (renewable)
Remuneration: As prescribed by National Treasury
Requirements:
- A postgraduate degree in Risk Management, Finance, Auditing, Law, or similar field
- At least 10 years’ management experience
- Extensive knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations, ISO 31000, COSO, and King IV
- Proven experience serving on a Risk or Audit Committee
Duties:
- Lead and chair the Enterprise Risk Management Committee (ERMC)
- Guide integration of risk into strategic planning and performance processes
- Monitor the implementation of ERM policies and frameworks
- Provide quarterly risk reports to the Accounting Officer
- Ensure oversight of ethics, business continuity, fraud prevention, and IT risk

Requirements:
- A postgraduate qualification in Auditing, Finance, Governance, or Project Management
- At least 10 years’ management experience
- Independent external candidate with risk committee experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of public sector risk frameworks
Duties:
- Support risk oversight functions and advise on risk appetite and mitigation
- Evaluate the department’s risk profile and policies
- Assist in ensuring effective implementation of Business Continuity and anti-fraud strategies
- Provide expert insight on integrating risk into planning and reporting
