Chief Information Officer

Requirements

  • NQF Level 7 qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Informatics or related ICT qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years’ senior management experience in ICT environment.
  • Experience in ICT strategy, digital transformation, enterprise architecture and cybersecurity governance.
  • Knowledge of ICT governance frameworks such as COBIT and ITIL.
  • Experience managing ICT infrastructure including networks, servers, cloud services and databases.

Duties

  • Develop and implement the Department’s ICT strategy and annual ICT plans.
  • Oversee ICT infrastructure, applications and enterprise architecture.
  • Manage cybersecurity strategy, disaster recovery and business continuity.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives including automation and cloud transformation.
  • Manage ICT budgets, vendor contracts and ICT personnel.
  • Build partnerships with DPSA, GITOC and other stakeholders.

Director: Research Management

Requirements

  • NQF Level 7 qualification in Economics, Econometrics or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience at middle or senior managerial level in research environment.
  • Experience managing research programmes and strategic research partners.
  • Strong analytical and economic policy research skills.

Duties

  • Develop and manage the Department’s medium-term research agenda.
  • Produce economic intelligence briefs and policy research reports.
  • Manage the Knowledge Management Centre and research databases.
  • Manage Strategic Research Partners programmes and research projects.
  • Present economic information to government stakeholders and international partners.

Director: Operations

Requirements

  • NQF Level 7 qualification in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce or Public Management.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience at middle or senior managerial level in programme management.
  • Knowledge of Public Service legislation, PFMA and Treasury Regulations.
  • Experience in strategic planning, financial management and stakeholder management.

Duties

  • Coordinate strategic and operational plans for the Branch.
  • Manage performance monitoring, risk management and reporting.
  • Coordinate the Branch’s inputs into the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF).
  • Manage human and financial resources of the Branch.
  • Support strategic planning and operational implementation.

Economist

Requirements

  • NQF Level 7 qualification in Economics, Econometrics or related field.
  • 3–5 years managerial experience in research and policy environment.
  • Experience conducting applied economic research and policy analysis.
  • Experience managing commissioned research projects and external research partners.

Duties

  • Conduct economic research and produce policy briefs.
  • Draft Terms of Reference for commissioned research.
  • Manage research projects and monitor progress of Strategic Research Partners.
  • Analyse economic data and prepare reports for policymakers.
  • Facilitate collaboration with research institutions and development partners.
