Post Title: Deputy Director – Asia Bilateral Relations

Requirements:

  • NQF Level 7 qualification in Economics, International Relations, or International Law with Economics.
  • 3–5 years managerial experience in international relations/law.
  • Strong economic analysis, negotiation, stakeholder management, and policy experience.

Duties:

  • Research trade and investment trends in the Asia region.
  • Draft legal/economic policy recommendations and negotiation briefs.
  • Liaise with foreign missions and interdepartmental forums.
  • Develop and monitor Bi-national Commission (BNC) action plans.
  • Oversee sub-directorate reporting, budgeting, and staff performance.

  • Assist with trade policy research and updating regional statistics.
  • Prepare country briefings and technical reports.
  • Liaise with foreign missions and coordinate stakeholder engagements.
  • Support BNC programme planning and implementation.

Salary: R468 459 per annum (Level 09)

Requirements:

  • NQF Level 6 qualification in Law, Public Administration, or Secretariat.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience.
  • CIS certification preferred.
  • Deep understanding of governance, PFMA, and public sector frameworks.

Duties:

  • Coordinate Exbo and committee meetings, including logistics and documentation.
  • Provide full secretariat support: attendance registers, minutes, records, etc.
  • Maintain governance reporting, update SOPs, and ensure compliance with King IV.
