The Department of Agriculture is recruiting a Marketing Officer for the Directorate: Marketing in Pretoria. This post is suited to candidates who understand agricultural markets, trade agreements, food safety standards, and market access programmes.
Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics at NQF Level 7
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in an Agricultural Economics environment

Duties
The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following duties:
Render market linkage programme
- Investigate market requirements
- Publish information to improve market access for historically disadvantaged individuals
- Promote compliance with food safety standards and requirements among producers and processors
Render preferential market access programme
- Administer import and export quotas in line with applicable trade agreements
- Issue rebate permits
- Monitor quota and permit utilisation
- Ensure compliance with permit conditions
- Record and monitor payment of permit fees
- Support participation of new traders and small and medium enterprises in rebate schemes
- Promote compliance with BEE sector codes among programme beneficiaries
Render general administration services
- Provide general office administrative support to management and clients
- Carry out ad hoc duties when needed
