Grant Administrators (Level 5) ×3 (2-Month Contract)

Salary: R228,321 per annum plus 37% in lieu of benefits

Minimum Requirements

  • NQF Level 6 qualification (SAQA-recognised) in one of the following fields:
    Public Administration, Public Management, Business Administration, Economics, Development Studies, Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Social Sciences, Social Security, Law, or IT.

Duties

  • Provide grant customer service.
  • Screen and capture grant applications, including beneficiary maintenance.
  • Administer medical bookings and assessments.
  • Provide off-site grant application services.
  • Scan and batch grant files accurately.

Senior Grant Administrators (Level 7) ×3 (2-Month Contract)

Salary: R325,101 per annum plus 37% in lieu of benefits

Minimum Requirements

  • NQF Level 6 qualification (SAQA-recognised) in:
    Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics, Development Studies, Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Social Sciences, or Social Security.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Social Security.

Duties

  • Conduct quality assurance and verify completeness of supporting documents.
  • Verify applications, means tests, and related declarations.
  • Approve or reject grant applications.
  • Manage beneficiary maintenance, medical bookings, customer care, and off-site services.
  • Supervise staff, manage resources, and advise on grant policies and processes.

Important Notes

  • Appointments are subject to pre-employment screening (qualifications, references, ITC, and criminal checks).
  • Security vetting is compulsory for all SASSA staff on appointment.
  • Employment Equity principles apply; preference may be given to candidates whose appointment promotes representivity (race, gender, disability, youth).
  • Foreign qualifications must be evaluated by SAQA prior to selection.
  • SASSA is under no obligation to fill a post after advertisement.
