Junior Assistant Adjudicator

Job Purpose

To investigate and resolve pension fund complaints in a procedurally fair, economical, and expeditious manner in line with the Pension Funds Act, 24 of 1956, while supporting the Adjudicator through high-quality legal research, drafting, and case management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate, analyse and identify the essence of pension fund complaints
  • Draft correspondence and follow up with Funds and Fund Administrators
  • Analyse the adequacy of responses and escalate matters when required
  • Prepare draft determinations based on research, legal analysis, and guidance from the Line Manager
  • Submit quality draft determinations within prescribed timelines
  • Finalise Out-of-Jurisdiction matters and Settlements timeously
  • Review and address corrections and review notes from the Line Manager or Adjudicator
  • Assist with projects and ad hoc tasks as required
  • Maintain records of own statistics and monitor personal performance
  • Apply computer literacy skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook) in case management

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree
  • 3–4 years’ legal drafting experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Pension Funds Act
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, MS Outlook)

Added Advantage

  • Experience in the financial services sector
