HR Officer (6-Month Contract)

Remuneration: Market related
Reporting To: Manager: HR & Auxiliary Services
Location: Midrand

Key Performance Areas

1. General Human Resource Management

  • Develop and implement induction/orientation programmes
  • Maintain employee records and upload onto SharePoint
  • Assist with drafting and updating job descriptions

2. Personnel Administration

  • Support recruitment and selection processes according to policy
  • Provide secretarial assistance during interviews
  • Assist in drafting quarterly HR reports

3. Human Resource Development

  • Assist in developing the annual Human Resource Development Plan
  • Monitor training and development programmes
  • Assist with performance appraisal processes

4. Employee Relations

  • Support communication on staff-related matters
  • Assist in implementing programmes that maintain healthy relationships with staff representatives

5. Leave Administration

  • Receive and file all leave forms
  • Conduct monthly leave audits
  • Ensure staff complete and submit leave forms for all absences

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proven experience in human resource management
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage projects and take tasks to completion
  • High attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Interpersonal and teamwork abilities
  • Strong understanding of HR legislation
  • Ability to maintain high confidentiality

Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric plus 3-year Diploma/Degree in Human Resources Management
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ HR experience
  • Payroll training/certification is an advantage
  • High proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Valid driver’s licence
