Key Performance Areas

The Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences (EMS) at the University of the Western Cape plays an active role in producing graduates of the highest standard. The Faculty Office plays a key role in supporting the academic programme and providing administrative support to both staff and students.

An opportunity currently exists for candidates to apply for the position of Faculty Officer – Post-graduate administration.

Reporting to the Faculty Manager the appointee’s duties will include, but not be limited to, the administration and execution of the following tasks:

  • Post-graduate administration across the higher degrees life-cycle
  • Prospective student advice
  • Applications and registration
  • Faculty consultation
  • Committee administration
  • Office administration
  • Communication with stakeholders and any other related tasks
Minimum Requirements
  • A three year tertiary qualification
  • At least three years’ relevant experience in post-graduate administration

 

Added Advantages:

  • Knowledge of university administrative systems such as MAS, CMS and SASI, especially the Post-graduate Thesis Management System
  • An understanding of a university post-graduate environment

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to collaborate with various stakeholders
  • Planning and organizing skills
  • Excellent time management  skills
  • Intermediate to expert user of computer office applications
  • Good writing and minute taking skills
  • High level of stress tolerance

In addition to the interview candidates may be required to complete a competency assessment.
