Chief Audit Executive

Reporting To: Audit and Risk Committee & CEO
Salary: Competitive package aligned to experience
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Auditing (mandatory)
- Postgraduate or Master’s in Auditing, Risk Management, or Management Accounting (advantageous)
- CA(SA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation required
- 8-10 years relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a management role
- Strong knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations, Public Service laws, King IV, and ISPPIAs
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and manage risk-based internal audit strategy and business unit plans
- Provide holistic annual opinions on internal controls, governance, and risk management
Governance and Compliance
- Provide advisory and assurance services
- Evaluate compliance with legislative frameworks
- Monitor implementation of audit recommendations
Audit Plan Implementation
- Lead internal audits, compliance checks, and performance evaluations
- Produce detailed audit reports for executive and board review
External Service Provider Management
- Coordinate audit efforts with external providers
- Maintain high-quality standards in outsourced audit functions
