Position: Risk and Compliance Officer
Reporting to: Head: Governance, Risk and Compliance
Key Responsibilities
Risk Management
- Develop and maintain the risk control framework.
- Implement risk assessments and manage the SA Tourism risk profile.
- Investigate root causes and trends in risk.
- Maintain the organisation’s risk register.
- Collaborate with unit heads to improve risk capabilities.
Governance and Compliance
- Review activities for compliance with standards and legislation.
- Ensure compliance with policies and risk management systems.
- Identify and mitigate high-risk governance areas.
- Drive compliance education and awareness.
- Communicate policy changes across the organisation.
Reporting
- Collect risk and compliance input from departments.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports.
- Present customised GRC reports to various stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain key relationships to strengthen the South African brand.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Auditing/Accounting).
- Honours in Risk Management (advantageous).
- Membership with IRMSA, IIASA, or similar body.
- 6–10 years’ experience, including 5 years in management.
Required Knowledge
- Risk monitoring and reporting frameworks.
- Public service systems and relevant legislation (PFMA, PSA, LRA).
- Corporate governance principles.
