About the Role
As the Section Manager for Communication Production and Publishing, you will provide leadership and management to the department responsible for multimedia production, publications, publishing, broadcasting, and marketing. Your focus will be to ensure that Parliament optimally utilizes its platforms and channels to effectively engage with its target audience, supporting the institution’s strategic objectives.
Your responsibilities will also include strengthening Parliament’s brand image and promoting its values of transparency, accountability, and democracy to the South African public.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Multimedia Design and Production: Lead the production of multimedia content for Parliament’s platforms, ensuring high-quality, engaging content that reaches diverse audiences.
- Publications Production: Oversee the creation and distribution of Parliament’s publications, ensuring they align with the institution’s communication goals.
- Publishing and Broadcasting: Manage Parliament’s broadcasting and publishing platforms to enhance public access to legislative activities.
- Marketing and Brand Management: Develop and implement marketing strategies to build and maintain the positive image of Parliament.
- Operational Planning and Reporting: Lead the planning and execution of operational strategies, and provide regular reports on the department’s activities and progress.
- Financial Management: Oversee the budget and financial activities within the section, ensuring resources are utilized efficiently.
- Human Resource Management: Lead and motivate a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring high levels of productivity and a positive work environment.
Qualifications and Experience
To qualify for the Section Manager role, you need the following:
- Educational Qualifications:
- Grade 12 or equivalent (NQF Level 4).
- A Postgraduate Degree/Diploma in Communications, Digital Marketing, Media Production, Brand Management, or a related field.
- Experience:
- At least 8 years of relevant experience, including 5 years at management level in a similar role.

- Project Management: Excellent skills in organizing, planning, and managing multiple projects.
- Leadership: Well-demonstrated ability to lead, manage teams, and drive results.
