Post Title: External IT Steering Committee Member x2
Purpose of the Role:
To provide independent guidance and oversight on Information Technology strategies, governance frameworks, and risk mitigation, ensuring alignment with the Measurement Standards Act, NMISA’s objectives, and best practices in the IT sector.
Reporting To:
Audit and Risk Committee via the Chairperson of the IT Steering Committee (ITSC)
Requirements:
- Postgraduate qualification
- Recognised professional certificates in the IT environment
- 10+ years of IT experience at senior management level
- Expertise in IT project implementation and strategic evaluation
- Proven experience in influencing executive strategies
- Track record of sound monitoring and evaluation capabilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Align IT strategy with legal frameworks and best industry practices
- Review and guide IT governance frameworks
- Advise on IT projects and ROI assessments
- Provide input into IT policy development and review
- Perform ongoing IT risk assessments and response strategies
- Advise on organisational IT structures and processes
- Promote IT’s role in adding value and managing risks effectively
Term & Commitment:
- Initial 3-year term, renewable based on performance
- Four (4) scheduled meetings annually (January, April, July, October)
- Attendance at meetings, strategy sessions, and preparation work is required
Remuneration:
Remuneration will be provided per meeting in line with National Treasury rates.
Employment Equity:
Preference will be given to applicants from designated groups in support of representativity and transformation on the IT Steering Committee.
