Job Requirements

For all positions, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • LLB (Bachelor of Laws) degree or an equivalent qualification for serving prosecutors seeking promotion.
  • A minimum of four years’ post-qualification legal experience.
  • Strong competency in acting independently, professionally, and with accountability.
  • Proven ability to work with minimal supervision in prosecuting, guiding investigations, and making informed decisions on criminal proceedings.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, presentation, and project management skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Key Responsibilities

Prosecutors will be responsible for a range of duties, including:

  • Studying case dockets and determining the institution of criminal proceedings.
  • Representing the State in various courts, including Regional and District Courts.
  • Leading witnesses, cross-examining, and addressing the court on conviction and sentence.
  • Drafting charge sheets and other related legal documents.
  • Managing the administration of the office and ensuring the smooth flow of cases.
