The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Provincial Treasury is currently inviting applications for various key positions within the department. Vacancies Available at KZN Department of Provincial Treasury

  1. Deputy Director: SCM Transversal Policy & Capacity Building
    Reference Number: KZNPT 25/01
    Salary: R849,702 per annum (All-inclusive package)
    Location: KZN Provincial Treasury, Pietermaritzburg
    Requirements:
    • A minimum NQF Level 7 qualification in Supply Chain Management, Law, Commerce, Public Management, or Administration.
    • At least 3 years of experience at a junior management level within a Supply Chain Management environment.
    • Valid driver’s license (assistance provided for people with disabilities without a valid driver’s license).
    • Knowledge of National and Provincial policies such as PFMA, MFMA, Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (PPPFA), and the BBBEE Code of Good Practice.
    • Strong skills in communication, project planning, policy development, and financial management.
    Duties:
    • Research and analyze SCM legislation.
    • Develop and implement SCM policies, norms, standards, and guidelines.
    • Manage the provision of SCM capacity building across various departments, municipalities, and public entities.
    • Provide expert advice and ensure compliance with SCM policies.
  2. Assistant Director: SCM Policy and Capacity Building
    Reference Number: KZNPT 25/02
    Salary: R444,036 per annum
    Location: KZN Provincial Treasury, Pietermaritzburg
    Requirements:
    • NQF Level 7 qualification in Public Administration, Financial Management, Law, or related fields.
    • At least 3 years of experience in SCM policy development.
    • Valid driver’s license (assistance for people with disabilities).
    • In-depth knowledge of the PFMA, MFMA, PPPFA, and other relevant policies and legislation.
    • Proficient in report writing, project management, and policy analysis.
    Duties:
    • Research and assess various SCM policies.
    • Develop and review SCM policies, practice notes, and implementation strategies.
    • Provide SCM capacity building and guidance to stakeholders across the public sector.
    • Assist in the management of resources for the unit.
  3. Assistant Director: Governance Cluster
    Reference Number: KZNPT 25/03
    Salary: R444,036 per annum
    Location: KZN Provincial Treasury, Pietermaritzburg
    Requirements:
    • A 3-year NQF Level 7 qualification in SCM, Law, or Commerce.
    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management.
    • Valid driver’s license (assistance for people with disabilities).
    • Comprehensive knowledge of legislation and policies such as PFMA, MFMA, and Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE).
    • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and project management skills.
    Duties:
    • Implement and maintain transversal SCM policies and procedures across provincial departments and public entities.
    • Monitor and evaluate SCM compliance in all relevant departments and municipalities.
    • Provide technical support in developing SCM policies, procedure manuals, and guidelines.
    • Manage resources within the unit.
